How long are sessions?Psychology sessions run for 50 minutes.
-
What can I expect during my first session?Prior to your first session, you will be sent an online intake form to fill out and a consent form to sign. During your first session, you will tell me about why you are seeking therapy and I will ask questions about you, your current issues and your history. This is also a great time for you to ask any questions you have about me, the therapy process and anything else you think is relevant. Feel free to bring a parent or companion for support.
-
What is your cancellation policy? If for some reason you need to cancel or postpone your psychology session, please give at least 24 hours’ notice. Failure to notify of cancellation or postponement of a session with less than 24 hours notice will incur the full session fee of $230. There is currently very high demand for psychological services so it is asked that you please provide as much notice as possible when cancelling an appointment so that it can be offered to another person in need. This cancellation policy is based on Australian Psychological Society recommendations.
-
Can I do a combination of in-person sessions and telehealth?Yes. I understand that life can be busy and unpredictable. Feel free to come into the clinic in Brunswick East one session and do telehealth the next. You can change your in-person therapy session to a telehealth one at any time right up until the start of your appointment via email.
-
Do you write reports for insurance, letters of recommendation, school letters, etc?Yes. Please contact me for pricing.
-
Do you offer rebates for therapy sessions?Medicare rebates are available with a Mental Health Treatment Plan. Private health insurance and NDIS funding may also apply.
-
Why are the prices different for NDIS and general clients?NDIS funding doesn't cover the full cost of one of my sessions so the price point has been adjusted to make mental health care accessible for people on NDIS.
-
Do you see NDIS clients?Yes. Both self-managed and plan-managed clients are welcome.
-
Do you conduct functional capacity assessments and write reports for NDIS reviews?Yes, I can provide functional capacity assessments and reports for NDIS plan reviews as needed. Please note, these are comprehensive and require 6 weeks notice.
-
Can NDIS funding cover therapy sessions?Yes, check with your local area coordinator (LAC) or support coordinator to confirm whether your plan will cover psychological supports.
-
Do you provide formal ADHD and autism assessments?Yes, I provide comprehensive assessments for ADHD and autism in adolescents and adults.
-
What does the assessment process involve? The process includes an in-depth clinical interview, questionnaires, and a review of relevant history to ensure an accurate and thorough assessment. You will also receive several assessments to complete between sessions.
-
How long does the assessment take?Typically, the assessment process involves multiple sessions over several weeks, depending on individual needs.
-
Can the assessment be used to apply for NDIS or other supports?Yes, assessments can be tailored to meet the documentation requirements for NDIS or other support services. Please note, a diagnosis of Autism - Level 2 or Autism - Level 3 automatically meets criteria for NDIS funding. A diagnosis of ADHD alone does not qualify for NDIS funding and a diagnosis of Autism - Level 1 will require additional supporting evidence illustrating support needs.
-

Clients under 25 years of age are eligible for the Medicare rebate of $96.65 for their initial session and feedback session plus an additional 4 x assessment sessions.
